Recruitment and screening
Our recruitment process follows our stringent Quality Management System and the requirements of BS 7858, the Code of Practice for screening individuals employed in security environments. Every applicant undergoes thorough background checks, providing detailed personal information, including:
- Employment history
- Character references
- Health information
- Education and qualifications
- Details of any cautions or convictions, including motoring offences
- Records of significant periods spent abroad
Following a successful initial interview, we conduct a full 10-year month-by-month screening in line with BS 7858. Applicants must also provide original documentation to confirm:
- Address verification
- Proof of identity
- A police check from any country visited in the last five years if they have been outside the UK for over six months
Induction and training
Once screening and verification are completed, successful candidates are formally inducted into Vistech Services. They receive:
- A full explanation of their terms, conditions, and contract of employment
- An initial appraisal to assess skills and development needs
- Site-specific training, delivered by a Senior Supervisor or Manager, until competency is achieved
Ongoing training and development
We are committed to ongoing training and development to ensure our workforce consistently delivers high-quality security services. This includes:
- Competency Training – Conducted during the first 12 weeks of employment, reinforcing classroom learning and ensuring professionalism in real-world security operations
- Contingency Planning – We maintain a pool of trained personnel to provide seamless cover when needed
- Annual Appraisals – Regular reviews to monitor attendance, assess performance, and identify future training and development opportunities
